Event Partner Evening 2014 in Hamburg
This year’s event partner evening took place at the BeachCenter in Hamburg. We spoke to Benjamin Mauersberger from Party Rent about the background, goals and plans at the event’s meeting place.
The event scene reconvened at the BeachCenter Hamburg for the event partner evening. Who are Eventpartner Hamburg?
Eventpartner Hamburg is a consortium of six leading companies from the events industry: the agency Aktiv Events, Beach Hamburg as location operator, Neumann&Müller event technology, personal service provider Perlease, Tarantella Bar & Restaurant and Party Rent.
What goals do you wish to achieve with the project?
The event partner evening began six years ago as a pure customer event. Together with our partners, we have continued to develop the evening into a meeting place for the Hamburg event scene. Today we want to spend some hours in a relaxed environment with our guests and discuss new ideas.
Our guests come from all industry-relevant areas – in and around Hamburg: representatives from business, agencies, hotels, locations, restaurants or caterers. The evening serves as a networking event, maintaining existing relationships and forging new contacts.
How many guests can you welcome at your event?
Approximately 350 guests visited the event this year. Like in the previous year, we decided in advance to charge a small entry fee and then donated all the proceeds to the Hamburg Mittagskinder for a good cause. Each guest paid 15 euros. At the same time, the goal for us as event organiser was the idea of acting against the ‘not worthwhile’ attitude – anything that is free has no value – and increase the level of visitors at the same time. We managed to do that.
To what extent is Party Rent the event supplier during this event?
We provide the equipment for the evening: furnishings, table tops and floral decorations. We naturally use the industry gathering as an opportunity to present new things. This year in Hamburg we presented the bar in a rounded form for the first time. We demonstrate the possibilities of using our material purposefully for various different event requirements. The direct practical relevance is also ideal as well. Participants experience the services and product directly in use.
What conclusion can you draw from the event partner evening?
It was a successful evening for all participants. I would have to add that the evening in Hamburg is now enjoying greater popularity and the first inquiries came in many months beforehand. In this respect, we had also expected this positive result. Furthermore, it was our wish to make sure the kids in the Hamburg foundation Mittagskinder had a wonderful day. To that end, we had already invited the kids to the BeachCenter before the event and provided them with a full day of fun and action. As mentioned, the full proceeds from the evening of 4,500 euros were donated to the Mittagskinder, which was then further increased to a total of 6,666 euros by the event partner evening’s initiators.
Now what’s next? Will there be an event partner evening in Hamburg next year too?
I strongly assume that is the case. We want to discuss the details within event partner circles next. We will also discuss the use of competent speakers who will report on the current themes and trends in the events industry. As you can see, we are not standing still and wish to continue to develop the event.
